Miracles of Prostration (sajda)

Prostration: (Resting the forehead and nose on the earth during namaz) in which the namazi becomes close to ALLAH and his prayers (Dua) are accepted by ALLAH.
Besides being a part of prayer (Rukh-e-namaz) there are several medical benefits of prostration. Let me first mention some scientific facts about human brain.
In surah-e-Alaq (no.96 verse no.16) it is mentioned that the forehead is a liar and wrongdoer.
Regarding the human brain, a most recent medical book “Essentials of Anatomy and physiology” mentions on its page no.211, that the front part of the brain is the center for criminal thinking and cruelty etc this is the same part of the brain towards which the said verse indicates.
In the back side of the head (in the brain) there is a sonical gland which is center for true and right thinking, this is also proved scientifically.
By putting the forehead and nose down on the earth, its evil activities are condemned and man becomes proud less.

During prostration (sajda), more blood is pumped by the heart towards the head, brain face and eyes. Thus more oxygen is absorbed by these parts and they become more strong and bright. Especially the hairs become strong, healthy and pretty. The face becomes flourishing.
As mentioned above, the conical gland in the back of our head contains iron particles in the blood, which can be charged magnetically or influenced by the magnet. It is scientifically proved in order the brain has a tendency to influence the man to do good, right and lawful.
The Hajara-e-Aswaad (Black stone) in Kabatullah Shareef in Mecca-Moazzama influence these iron particles of the gland when a person is in sajda and arranges them in order. They have chances of disturbance after ‘namaz’. But during five times namaz daily (96 sajdas) less chance are left for disturbance. And in a short period these particles are permanently settled in order to make regular namazi, God fearing, pious and modest. And he really becomes Ashraful-Maqlooqat (the best creation of God.)
During the performance of sajda, the belly is pressed and its bulging does not take place. Back pain is avoided specially ladies are much benefited.
Diseases of head, hair eyes, nose, ears and stomach are avoided due to sajda by the grace of Allah.
Let us all realize the above benefits and become regular namazi in our own interest.

MISWAK
(Tooth brushing stick)
Its use, benefits, significance & excellence in Islam

Miswak in Islamic term means a natural (botanical) stick used for brushing and cleaning teeth. It is the tradition of holy prophet much practiced by him and stressed upon. The excellence of Miswak is described by holy prophet in most of his sayings (Hadiths), the abstract of.
Which is as follows:-
1. The salah (Namaaz) performed after using Miswak has got seventy times excellence over a namaaz performed without using Miswak in reward of virtue granted by ALLAH.
2. Use of Miswak gains favor and pleasure of ALLAH.
3. Use of Miswak makes devil angry.
4. Miswak cleans the mouth.
5. Miswak creates a sort of good smell in mouth by vanishing bad smell.
6. Miswak strengthens gums and makes teeth firm and durable.
7. Miswak dispels choter (safrah).
8. Miswak removes phlegm (Belgham).
9. Miswak makes eye-sight sharp.

Religious scholars describe more or less seventy advantages of using Miswak and one of them is that a Muslim using Miswak gets divine guidance to pronounce creedal testimony (kalma) at the time of his death.
Miswak has got many medical advantages also from health point of view. For instance use of Miswak makes teeth stronger which help a lot in masticating food, resulting in better digestion. It also provides protection against food pieces and particles sticking up in between teeth and getting putrefied; which ultimately go in stomach and create poisonous affects. Medical experts describe that strong teeth are helpful in successful cardiac surgery for heart patient.

How to use Miswak:-
Do not hold Miswak in hand with wrist closed; but hold the Miswak in your right hand with your last smallest finger coming under one end of the Miswak and thumb under the other end of the Miswak and remaining fingers on top of the Miswak. Don’t clean by brushing Miswak vertically but brush it in horizontal direction by starting from right towards left, first upper teeth & then lower teeth. Repeat it at least thrice. Lastly take out Miswak from mouth, wash it, squeeze water from it and keep it in standing position with support of wall. Never throw it on ground wash the Miswak first, when ever it is needed to be used again.
Usually such bitter sticks of salvadora persica (peelo), Olive or Neem trees, and sticks straight & without knot are advised to be better, which should be neither soft nor harder. Miswak stick should be as thick as the smallest finger and one span in length. Miswak should be used at the time of gargle and rinsing of mouth with water.

MEDICAL BENEFITS OF “NAMAAZ”

Besides being prayer to ALLAH for salvation and entering into the heaven, namaaz has several medical benefits as follows:-

1. In “Qiyaam” (standing position) you are supposed to concentrate wholly and only at “ALLAH” and be free all other thoughts. Thus you get rid of your mental tension and sadness if any.
2. In “Rukoo” (bending position), the circulation of blood increases in the head and eyes. Thus the brain and eyes get more oxygen and becomes fresher and stronger. Also the back bone is exercised and gets stronger. The pumping of blood becomes easier for the heart and it gets some relief.
3. In “Quma” (coming to standing position again after the Rukoo), the blood circulation become normal. The brain fluid gets a surging movement and purifies.
4. The movements for going in “Sajda” (prostration) from “Quma” gives exercise to the head, neck, lungs, hands waist & legs and prevents them from joints pains etc.
5. In “Sajda” again the blood circulation increases in the eyes, skull, hair & head supplying more oxygen & refreshing them & making stronger. Also the old residual air from the stomach gets expelled out as the belly gets compressed. And more fresh air enters in the system. Due to exercise and more fresh air supply, the eyes, brain, neck, lungs, waist, hands and leg joints become stronger. Face become bright and shining due to more oxygen absorption in the skin, “Sajda” prevents from head ache, neck and eyes pain, Asthma, stagnation of bile gall (safra) phlegm (blagham) in the body, keeps the air passage clean and chances of nose disease are avoided. Sajda gives relief to heart in pumping of blood; increasing its life and avoiding heart disease. In Sajda due to excess pressure of flow of blood in the system, blood clots are not formed. Blood passages in the veins become clean & free. Thus the chances of heart failure are minimized.
6. “Salaam” turning the head both sides in “salaam” is a neck exercised which makes the neck and its muscles flexible and strong saving from neck disease & pain.
7. Five times break for Namaaz and going to the mosque during the daily routine activities bring a change and refreshes the mind and body to re continue the activities with fresh energy and with out tiredness. Also by walking for few minutes, a diabetic person gets his body sugar reduced and a heart patient gets proper blood circulation as per medical advice. Thus performing five times “NAMAAZ” keeps a person fit & fresh (free from all mental, heart & other diseases).
May “ALLAH” help us to perform “NAMAAZ” regularly.
